Short Film Review of "Pumpkin Bitch" by The Headless Critic

Pumpkin Bitch – 2018
Production by: Craw-nan Productions, Ten Gallon Films

Deep in a field two children stumble across a body with no head and worms crawling out of its neck hole. Deep in a field two children are about to have to face a Pumpkin Bitch (Tim O’Hearn). Every five years these pumpkin headed fall creatures come to life. For twenty years The Angel (Kolby Chaffee) and The Devil (Kash Thomas & Zak Seeley) have been ready to stop them. It’s been five years now, time to get out the guns and spill some pumpkin guts.

It’s very seldom I review a short film and even more rare I review one under twenty minutes because there’s too little story to talk about. Pumpkin Bitch is worth talking about. A gory headless horseman tale of zombie pumpkin headed creatures. Pumpkin guts fly everywhere! The performances in this low budget short are obviously family and friends of director Mick Thomas but his use of child actors sucks you into the story and the payoff is hilariously worth it. Wonderful poster art and an excellent name don’t disappoint. Horror fans everywhere should remember the name and catch this Pumpkin Bitch wherever you can. The only disappointment in this one is it isn’t a feature.
