The Last Templar Coming to DVD

Posted in Movie News by Neal at 19:46, May 02 2009

Academy-Award® winner Mira Sorvino (Best Supporting Actress, Mighty Aphrodite, 1996), Scott Foley (TV’s “The Unit”, “Scrubs”, “Felicity”), six-time Emmy® Award nominee Victor Garber (Milk, Titanic, TV’s “Alias”) and Oscar®-nominated Omar Sharif (Best Supporting Actor, Lawrence of Arabia, 1963) star in The Last Templar, debuting on DVD May 5 from Genius Products and RHI Entertainment. In its initial airing, the heavily promoted NBC Event miniseries attracted over 9 million viewers.

Based on Raymond Khoury’s #1 international best-seller, the adventurous and epic cross between National Treasure and The Da Vinci Code tells the story of an ancient decoder that’s been stolen from a collection of Vatican art. When the daughter of a famed archaeologist (Sorvino) discovers its connection to the history of the Knights Templar, she enlists the help of a New York detective (Foley) to find the decoder and the journal before they fall into the wrong hands. Clue by clue, continent by continent, murder by murder, the quest is on to discover a secret that could change the course of history.

The bonus features include storyboards, a photo gallery and Making The Last Templar, a behind-the-scenes featurette featuring Sorvino, Foley, Garber and Sharif sharing their experiences filming the epic action-adventure on location in Montreal and Morocco. The featurette also takes a look at the stunts, special effects, and exotic locations that are featured in the film, and examines the background of the legendary and mystical medieval Templars. The Last Templar will be available on DVD for $19.95 SRP.
